     Cabins

The setting of our country cabins is on the edge of a little valley, nestled in the pines, with the mountains and Black Hills National Forest rising directly behind. History abounds our cabins some of which were once on the site of the Harney Peak Tin Mining and Mfg. Co., in the 1880’s.

  • Aspen ~ 2 bedrooms  (1 with queen, 1 with built in bunkbed), love seat  , 1 bathroom  with tub/shower
  • Birch ~ 2 bedrooms (1 with queen, 1 with built in bunkbed), love seat, 1 bathroom with tub/shower
  • Cedar ~ 2 bedroom  (1 with queen, 1 with built in bunkbed), love seat , 1 bathroom with walk/wheel in shower
  • Dakota ~ 2 bedroom (1 with queen, 1 with built in bunkbed), love seat , 1 bathroom with tub/shower

Aspen Cabin

Aspen, Birch, Cedar & Dakota are our 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom duplex units.

Aspen & Birch are two cabins in one building and Cedar & Dakota are in another.

Featuring a gas log fireplace and knotty pine inside and out, each of the four cabins has its own 8×8 covered porch and separate entrance on opposite ends of the building. 

There is a queen size bed in one bedroom and small second bedroom with built in twin size bunkbeds. The 8 foot walls are open at the top and share the vaulted ceiling for a spacious feeling and good air flow. Of course each of the duplex units is totally separated from the other with a full wall between them.

The queen bed is made up. Linens are provided for you to make the bunk beds .

These cabins are ideal for 1 or 2 adults and 2 – 3 children. When traveling with 4 – 5 adults, we recommend booking both sides of the duplex , or one of the other cabins.

There is also a love seat in the living room/kitchenette area. This area features gas log fireplace, a kitchenette with microwave, electric skillet, chef’s pot for boiling or slow cooking, toaster, coffee maker and under counter refrigerator. A table, chairs, and a rocker complete the room.

With the exception of Cedar, which has a handicapped accessible walk-in shower, each unit has a bathroom with tub & shower.

 No smoking.

OCCUPANCY: 1-4 people.

Birch Cabin

The Three Pines ~ Medium Cabin #3

The Three Pines formerly known as Cabin #3- is a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom individual cabin. The Three Pines has a cozy free standing gas log fireplace and knotty pine interior. 

The bedroom has 2 queen size beds in one bedroom with attached bath with 48 inch stall shower. There is a love seat and recliner in the kitchenette/living room where the TV is located.

The kitchenette has an apartment sized stove with oven, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, sink and table chairs. 

This cabin features an 8×24 foot covered front porch.

 No smoking.

Medium Cabin #8

Cabins #4, & #8 are medium size 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cabins, each is approximately 500 sq. ft.

The bedroom is equipped with two queen size beds. The living room has a love seat and recliner.

These cabins feature an 8×24 foot covered front porch.  No smoking.

Cabins #4, & #8 are medium size 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cabins, each is approximately 500 sq. ft.

The bedroom is equipped with two queen size beds. The living room has a love seat and recliner .

These cabins feature an 8×24 foot covered front porch.  No smoking.

Small Cabin #1

Cabins #1 & 2 are two small, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cabins are in one building. Each half of the duplex is approximately 350 sq. ft. and has a separate entrance, while they share the front porch.

Both have a queen size bed in the bedroom and love seat and recliner in kitchenette/living room area.

These cabins are ideal for 1 or 2 adults and 1 or 2 children.

 No smoking.

Small Cabin #2

Cabins #1 & 2 are two small, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cabins are in one building. Each half of the duplex is approximately 350 sq. ft. and has a separate entrance, while they share the front porch.

Both have a queen size bed in the bedroom and love seat and recliner in the kitchenette/living room area.

These cabins are ideal for 1 or 2 adults and 1 or 2 children.

No smoking.

Our historic one bedroom cabin  #5     ~  OPEN Spring through Fall ~ 

  • Large Cabin #5 –  1 bedroom with 2 queens , 1 semi-private sleeping area  with 2 singles,   1 bathroom with tub/shower , 2nd  bathroom with 48″ shower     

Large Cabin #5

 Historic Cabin #5 is one large cabin with one bedroom and 2 bathrooms, approximately 750 sq. ft. Over 100 years old, this cabin has walls covered with bark facing, decorated with the rose-crucifiction, which was the original design of Black Hills Gold.

The main cabin is one large room with the sleeping area divided from the kitchenette/living area by two log-type bookcases. The kitchenette has a microwave, electric skillet, chef’s pot for boiling or slow cooking, toaster, coffee maker and 2 under counter refrigerators. The tv is in the  kitchenette/living area  of this unit which also has a love seat and recliner. The attached bedroom has its own bathroom with tub & shower and 2 queen size beds.

The sleeping area has 2 single beds and a bathroom with shower.

The floors of this old cabin are a bit unlevel. This cabin features an 8×24 foot covered front porch. No smoking.

OCCUPANY: 1-6 people

For your comfort, safety and satisfaction we do not book more than the maximum occupancy listed for the cabin. Keep in mind these occupancy numbers are intended for a combination of adults and children – the cabin will be quite crowded if you choose to fill it to the maximum capacity with adults.
